THE WALT DISNEY WORLD MARATHON WEEKEND WITH CIGNA.

 

Cigna proudly presented the 2016 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend last January, 2016.

 

It is Cigna’s mission to help people improve their health, well-being and sense of security and so presenting this event with Disney reaches out to thousands of people who come to celebrate their efforts to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

 

This marathon offered entry to athletes on all levels of fitness. Various activities were included ranging from a 5K fun run, through a 10K family run to the half Marathon which is a 13.1mile course.  The following day the 26.2mile Marathon event took place taking in all four Walt Disney World theme parks.

 

This runDisney Health and Fitness Expo is a four-day celebration focused on health and fitness. The celebratory charity involved is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which is dedicated to fighting against blood cancers.  Roughly $7 million is raised through participant and volunteer donations along with the Team in Training fundraising program to help blood cancer patients live better, longer lives. Cigna is a proud to have presented this Walt Disney World Marathon weekend.

 

CIGNA COLLABORATES WITH NEW YORK ‘STORY’

 

STORY is a new retail concept founded by Rachel Shechtman. She has created a retail concept to serve as a matchmaker between brands and consumers using the strategies of marketing, merchandising and business development.

The aims generally are to give customers a ‘feel good’ experience whilst maintaining a revenue stream plus bringing to light a new theme, trend or issue.

Interestingly, Cigna is teaming up with STORY to unveil the ‘feel good’ concept which is all about improving health and wellness. Whilst the ‘feel good’ installation is running, customers will be invited to participate in complimentary classes and discussions around health and wellness.  They will also be able to shop for up-to-the-minute items for healthy living.

The STORY concept will highlight Cigna’s mind/body health and fitness expertise.  Three main segments will feature:  preventive care, mindfulness and heart health.

“Cigna is all about developing effective ways to help people achieve healthier, more secure lives,” says Cigna Chief Marketing Officer, Lisa Bacus. “STORY provides a wonderful platform to help us learn and understand your interests, preferences and health, so that we may meet you where you are and help get you to where you want to be.”

 

 

Cigna Extends Collaborative Health Care to 75,000 Floridians Through New Arrangements with Five Medical Groups.

 

Cigna provides and has expanded its collaborative health care through a new initiative with Florida medical groups and will reach 75,000 additional customers. This care aims to the same health goals as (ACOs) Accountable Care Organizations which are, improved health, affordability and better patient experience.

 

These new arrangements allow Cigna Health Care to improve the wellbeing of customers whilst managing medical costs. These initiatives are helping to:

  • “Close gaps in care, such as missed health screening or prescription refills:
  • Improve follow-up care for people transitioning from the hospital to home.
  • Increase the number of preventive health visits
  • Reinforce the appropriate use of hospital emergency room”

 

“We’re delighted to welcome these five medical groups to Cigna Collaborative Care,” said Dean Mirabella, Cigna’s president for Florida markets. “Each one is committed to putting the patient at the centre of its practice, with expanded access to care, better coordination of care, a focus on prevention, and patient education about chronic conditions and wellness. We look forward to having them join us on our journey toward a better system for the people who use, pay for or deliver health care.”

Registered nurse clinical care coordinators, employed by the medical groups will help patients who need help to navigate the system.

 

Continuing the aim of improving customers experience of the system, Cigna provides a team of Cigna Health Care case managers who will work with the care coordinators.  They will also help individuals schedule appointments, provide health education and refer people to Cigna’s clinical support programs that are available through their employer’s health plan.

In Fort Lauderdale: Advantage Health Network  (AHN), a clinically integrated commercial accountable care organization formed among leading South Florida area physicians and Tenet hospitals.

In Palm Beach County: Palm Beach Accountable Care Organization  (PBACO), a high performing, wholly physician-owned and operated accountable care organization.

In Orlando: Florida Hospital Medical Group , a comprehensive multi-specialty medical group practice affiliated with Adventist Health System.

In Winter Park: Florida Accountable Care Services, LLC , a physician-owned and governed, clinically integrated network of independent providers.

In Tampa: Tampa Bay Integrated Healthcare Network  (TBIH), a physician-led clinically integrated network, founded and established by University Community Independent Practice Association, Inc. (UCIPA) and Tampa Bay Provider Group, Inc. (TBPG).
